His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, recently welcomed Tokyo’s Governor, Yuriko Koike, in the United Arab Emirates. The Governor’s visit aimed to reinforce the strong ties between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo and foster deeper collaboration across sectors significant to both regions.
During their meeting, Sheikh Khaled and Governor Koike discussed a range of topics centered around enhancing bilateral relations. Both leaders expressed enthusiasm for exploring opportunities that could lead to mutual growth, addressing areas such as technology, trade, education, cultural exchange, and sustainability. They acknowledged the potential for both cities to share best practices and learn from each other's experiences to drive future progress in these fields.
Accompanying Sheikh Khaled at the meeting were several high-ranking officials, underscoring the importance the UAE places on its relationship with Japan. Among the attendees were His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and His Excellency Shihab Ahmed Al Faheem, the UAE’s Ambassador to Japan. Together with the delegation, they engaged in discussions aimed at setting a collaborative agenda that aligns with the shared ambitions of Abu Dhabi and Tokyo.
