Israel spoke to former US President Donald Trump’s team before starting its latest deadly airstrikes on Gaza, a White House spokesperson said on Fox News' "Hannity" show on Monday.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Israel had informed the Trump team about the attacks. She told Fox News that "The Trump administration and the White House were consulted by the Israelis on their attacks in Gaza tonight."

The airstrikes were some of the most intense since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas on January 19. Doctors in Gaza said that the strikes killed dozens of people and caused severe damage.

A senior Hamas leader accused Israel of breaking the ceasefire deal. The leader said that Israel acted alone and ended the truce without agreement.

During the interview, Leavitt repeated Trump’s strong warning against Hamas and its allies. She said, "As President Trump has made clear – Hamas, the Houthis, Iran, and others who attack Israel and the US will face serious consequences. All hell will break loose."

Trump had earlier warned Hamas, saying that they must free all hostages in Gaza or face "hell breaking out."

The latest violence is part of the long-running fight between Israel and Palestine, which became worse on October 7, 2023. On that day, Hamas fighters attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping about 250 hostages, according to Israeli reports.

After this, Israel started a strong military attack on Gaza. Since then, over 48,000 Palestinians have been killed, as per Gaza’s health ministry. The war has also forced nearly all 2.3 million people in Gaza to leave their homes, creating a severe hunger crisis.

In a separate conflict, the US launched airstrikes on Saturday in Yemen, targeting the Houthi group. The US military said they killed dozens of Houthi fighters, but the Houthis claimed 53 deaths. Reuters could not confirm the exact number of people killed.

The Houthi group, backed by Iran, has carried out more than 100 attacks on shipping vessels since November 2023. The group says they are doing this to support Palestinians in the war against Israel in Gaza.
