The transition, initiated in February, has now encompassed users in India, marking a significant update for WhatsApp. Given the app's pervasive usage, even minor alterations draw considerable attention. The recent shift in color scheme, from its traditional blue to a vibrant green, has stirred widespread discourse among its expansive user base.
Meta, the conglomerate behind WhatsApp, aims to usher in a "modern, new experience" through these alterations, aiming to enhance accessibility and user-friendliness. The company elucidated that the changes encompass various aspects, including spacing, colors, and icons, to refresh the app's overall look and feel.

For iOS and Android users alike, the transition is palpable. Android users note a nuanced shift in green hue, while iPhone users observe a comprehensive makeover, from the status bar to the chat-list interface. Even shared links now adopt a green hue instead of the customary blue.
Moreover, alongside the aesthetic overhaul, WhatsApp has introduced several enhancements to augment user experience. Android users, for instance, will observe refined dark mode settings, offering a deeper shade for enhanced readability, while light mode has been optimized for improved legibility and spaciousness.
Beyond the visual alterations, WhatsApp has addressed functional aspects as well. Notably, the app recently underwent scrutiny for its messaging indicators, where some words like "online" and "typing" were capitalized, sparking discussions among users. This change, observed across both Android and iOS platforms, reflects WhatsApp's commitment to continual improvement and adaptation to user preferences.
