Vietnamese President To Lam has commenced his state visit to China, symbolizing a crucial advancement in fostering bilateral connections. This visit is scheduled from April 14 to April 17, 2026.
Accompanied by his wife and an esteemed Vietnamese delegation, To Lam arrived in Beijing on the morning of April 14. The group was greeted warmly at Beijing International Airport by high-ranking Chinese officials.
The reception included prominent Chinese figures, including Communist Party officials, diplomats, and members of the Vietnamese embassy. Additionally, members of the Vietnamese diaspora and students residing in China gathered to show their support for the delegation.
This visit is particularly timely as Vietnam embarks on a new developmental phase post its 14th National Congress, while China advances through its 15th Five-Year Plan. This synchronization is anticipated to unveil fresh collaborative opportunities.
During the meetings, leaders are poised to explore expansion across vital sectors, including trade, investment, tourism, education, and technology. Enhancing supply chains and production collaborations is also on the agenda.
Officials view this visit as a substantial opportunity to elevate strategic connections and forge a new level of partnership between Vietnam and China. It is expected to facilitate deeper economic and political integration.
Conversations among top leaders, inclusive of Xi Jinping, are expected to establish the framework for future bilateral interactions and support both nations' long-term development aspirations.
