Dubai, United Arab Emirates — LG Electronics (LG) today announced the global debut of UltraGear evo™, its new premium gaming monitor brand, set to be unveiled at CES 2026. Designed to push the boundaries of ultra-high-resolution gaming, UltraGear evo builds on LG’s leadership in 5K and 5K2K display innovation, delivering uncompromised clarity, speed and immersion across OLED, New MiniLED and ultra-wide formats.
The inaugural UltraGear evo lineup introduces three flagship models — 39GX950B, 27GM950B and 52G930B — each engineered around a shared philosophy of high-resolution excellence. Together, they offer gamers a choice of perfect blacks, extreme brightness or immersive large-format scale, without sacrificing performance.
At the core of UltraGear evo is LG’s newly developed on-device AI solution, which powers the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling technology*. This proprietary innovation intelligently analyzes and enhances content in real time, delivering 5K-class image clarity without the need for GPU upgrades. As a result, gamers can enjoy a wider range of content in stunning detail, transcending original resolution limitations while maintaining smooth performance.
39-Inch 5K2K OLED Gaming Monitor with 5K AI Upscaling
The LG UltraGear evo 39GX950B builds upon the legacy of the GX9 series as a 39-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor that blends cinematic visuals with competitive responsiveness. Powered by LG’s on-device AI technology, the monitor enhances both visuals and audio before content reaches the panel, ensuring exceptional clarity, optimized scenes and immersive sound without added system load.
Featuring Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology, the display delivers improved brightness, precise color accuracy and enhanced panel longevity, alongside perfect blacks and lifelike color reproduction. Gamers can seamlessly switch between 165Hz at 5K2K resolution and 330Hz at WFHD via LG’s Dual Mode feature, supported by an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time.
The 1500R-curved 21:9 ultrawide panel maintains the vertical height of a 32-inch screen while expanding horizontal immersion, making it ideal for both gaming and multitasking. With a pixel density of 142 PPI and VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 500 certification, the monitor delivers vivid highlights and deep blacks, even in the darkest scenes.
World’s First 5K New MiniLED Gaming Monitor with Blooming Control
The LG UltraGear evo 27GM950B sets a new benchmark as the world’s first 27-inch 5K New MiniLED gaming monitor engineered to significantly reduce blooming. Featuring 2,304 local dimming zones and LG’s Zero Optical Distance design, the display minimizes halo effects while delivering ultra-high luminance and precise contrast across both bright and dark environments.
Equipped with the same on-device AI solution, the 27GM950B supports 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound, enhancing visual and audio quality in real time without GPU strain. The monitor offers Dual Mode flexibility, allowing users to switch between 165Hz at 5K and 330Hz at QHD, paired with a rapid 1ms (GtG) response time.
Certified VESA DisplayHDR™ 1000 and capable of reaching 1,250 nits peak brightness, the display renders intense highlights, flames and flashes with striking realism, while maintaining deep, controlled blacks for professional-grade precision.
World’s Largest 52-Inch 5K2K 240Hz Gaming Monitor
The LG UltraGear evo 52G930B introduces a new category of large-format gaming displays as the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor. Combining massive scale with a 240Hz refresh rate, the display delivers exceptional responsiveness and image consistency across an expansive canvas.
Offering the vertical height of a standard 42-inch 16:9 display and an extended 12:9 panoramic format, the monitor provides a workspace 33 percent wider than a standard UHD display. Its 1000R curvature wraps around the user’s field of view, creating a deeply immersive experience, while VESA DisplayHDR™ 600 certification ensures vivid color reproduction and rich contrast.
Executive Commentary
“The new UltraGear evo lineup represents a defining moment in gaming display innovation, signaling the end of compromises between resolution, speed and immersion,” said Lee Choong-hwoan, Head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “With industry-first innovations such as 5K AI Upscaling, gamers can enjoy consistently exceptional performance whether they prioritize perfect blacks, unmatched brightness or expansive screen scale. This same commitment to precision also extends to our B2B solutions, including medical-grade monitors.”
CES 2026 Showcase and Additional Launches
The UltraGear evo lineup will be showcased at CES 2026, where visitors can experience its visual capabilities through two immersive zones: the ‘Dream Setup’, inspired by Reddit gaming communities, and a SimCraft-powered racing simulation featuring the 39-inch GX9.
In addition, LG confirmed that global sales of the UltraGear™ GX7 (27GX790B) will begin on the opening day of CES 2026. The 27-inch gaming monitor features a QHD Primary RGB Tandem OLED display, an ultra-fast 540Hz refresh rate, and Dual Mode support up to 720Hz (HD), meeting the demands of the most competitive gamers.
