The event also included a speech from one of the graduating students. Medical students also took an oath in front of His Highness to promise that they will serve people with care and honesty in their medical careers.
His Highness Sheikh Hazza congratulated the graduates, their families, and the university staff. He wished the students success in their future and encouraged them to use what they have learned to help their country grow and succeed. He said that education is a key part of building a strong and smart society. He also mentioned that this graduation shows how the UAE’s leaders, especially President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, are working hard to prepare young people for the future. He added that these students will help the country become more advanced, smart, and full of new ideas.
Many important guests attended the ceremony, including His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Also present were government officials, special guests, the graduates’ families, and members of the university’s teaching and support staff.
In his speech, His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh said that this graduation is a result of the dream of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE. Sheikh Zayed believed that investing in people is the best way to build a strong country. His Excellency also said that the UAEU is always working to provide a good education and help the country grow. The university is also focusing on teaching the latest subjects and using modern technologies to prepare students for the changing world.
He added that as the university gets ready to celebrate 50 years, it is still working hard to be one of the best. With great support from the UAE’s leaders, the university wants to help build the country’s future through high-quality education and strong research that matches the country's development plans.
This year, 2,698 male and female students graduated from different areas of study. On the first day of the event, 821 students who earned high grades—those with Distinction, First Honours, and Second Honours—were honoured. The remaining 1,877 students from other academic programs were celebrated on the second day.
