The Indian Business and Professional Council Dubai successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this weekend, reinforcing its role as a key driver of economic collaboration between India and the United Arab Emirates.
In his opening remarks, Chairman Siddharth Balachandran highlighted the strong and enduring relationship between the two nations. He emphasized that IBPC Dubai continues to play a vital role in promoting shared economic growth and strengthening bilateral partnerships.
Balachandran also underlined the Council’s ongoing transformation, positioning it as a unified institutional platform dedicated to empowering the Indian business community in the UAE. He noted that collaboration, resilience, and a forward-looking vision remain at the core of IBPC Dubai’s mission.
The Council reported a year of significant growth and engagement, marked by a notable increase in membership and a stronger focus on inclusivity. In particular, there has been a rise in female participation, reflecting the organization’s commitment to diversity and representation.
At the AGM, Dr. Sahitya Chaturvedi was confirmed for a second term as Secretary General, ensuring leadership continuity and consistent execution of strategic initiatives.
Additionally, Focus Group Convenors were appointed to lead key sectors essential to Indo-UAE collaboration. These include health, education, finance, technology, professional services, real estate, energy, and tourism—bringing together industry expertise to drive sector-specific growth and innovation.
Looking ahead, IBPC Dubai is preparing to host two major events: the West Asia Business Conclave in April 2026 and the Family Business Conference in May 2026. These flagship platforms aim to further enhance cross-border partnerships, encourage knowledge exchange, and strengthen institutional engagement across the region.
Overall, the AGM reaffirmed IBPC Dubai’s commitment to fostering stronger economic ties and supporting long-term strategic cooperation between India and the UAE.
