The UAE’s national contingent returned from the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia with its best-ever result, marking a standout moment in the country’s growing sporting journey. The team’s spirited performances across multiple disciplines made this edition the strongest for the UAE since the Games began in 2005.
This year, the UAE athletes captured 27 medals, including 6 gold and 14 silver, reflecting a level of consistency and competitiveness that continued to build over recent months. Their disciplined approach and calm execution under pressure were visible throughout the competition, whether on the track, in the arena, or on the field.
The delegation also carried its positive momentum from the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, where promising performances had already set the tone for a confident showing in Riyadh. The athletes maintained that energy, delivering personal bests, breaking national records, and pushing the UAE’s standings higher in several categories.
Support teams played a crucial role behind the scenes, ensuring the athletes were prepared through modern training routines and well-structured schedules. The coordination between coaches, medical units, and administrative staff remained tight throughout the event, contributing to the smooth and focused campaign.
Across different venues in Saudi Arabia, the UAE colours stood out not just for the medal count but for the competitive mindset the athletes displayed. Their ability to raise their level for every event underlined the growing maturity of the country’s sporting ecosystem.
As the UAE continues to invest in long-term development plans for athletes, the successful run in Riyadh serves as a clear indicator of a rising performance curve. The momentum built at the Islamic Solidarity Games is expected to further strengthen the UAE’s presence at upcoming regional and international competitions.
