Following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Joint Operations Command has stepped up efforts to support those affected by the recent earthquake in eastern Afghanistan.
Today, a relief plane took off carrying 40 tonnes of essential supplies, including food and shelter materials, destined for the earthquake-affected regions. This is part of the UAE’s ongoing effort to ensure that urgent support reaches those in immediate need.
In addition to the air operation, the UAE President has also ordered the deployment of a humanitarian aid ship. This ship is loaded with vital supplies, including food, temporary shelters, and medical equipment. These initiatives aim to ease the suffering of the Afghan people and provide quick assistance in the wake of this natural disaster.
The UAE Joint Operations Command began its mission in Afghanistan last Wednesday, immediately upon arrival, demonstrating the country’s commitment to rapid humanitarian response. Teams on the ground have been actively coordinating the distribution of relief materials to ensure they reach the most affected communities as quickly as possible.
This relief effort reflects the UAE’s long-standing dedication to helping those affected by natural disasters and crises worldwide. Beyond immediate relief, such operations highlight the country’s role as a reliable partner in times of emergency, showcasing its readiness to provide assistance wherever it is needed.

Officials have emphasized that the UAE’s humanitarian actions are guided by the principles of compassion and solidarity. By sending both air and sea aid, the country is ensuring that the aid supply chain remains uninterrupted and that support reaches even the most remote areas.
The earthquake in eastern Afghanistan has caused significant devastation, leaving thousands in urgent need of food, shelter, and medical attention. The UAE’s swift action underlines the importance of international cooperation in disaster relief and provides a lifeline to those struggling to recover from the disaster.
This mission also sets an example for other nations on how coordinated and immediate humanitarian support can make a real difference in mitigating the impact of natural disasters. By mobilizing both planes and ships, the UAE ensures that aid is delivered efficiently, reducing the risk of delays in emergency response.
The UAE’s humanitarian team continues to work closely with local authorities in Afghanistan to assess the situation and provide ongoing support. Their efforts are expected to expand in the coming days, focusing on the most vulnerable communities, including women, children, and the elderly.
In summary, the UAE’s relief operations are a strong demonstration of the nation’s commitment to global humanitarianism. By combining air and sea missions, the UAE not only addresses immediate needs but also strengthens international solidarity during times of crisis, proving that timely and organized aid can save lives and restore hope in affected communities.
