On Monday, the UAE Cabinet approved the creation of a new office called the Legislative Intelligence Office. This is a big step towards modernizing the country's law-making process using artificial intelligence (AI) and data integration.
The main job of the new office will be to build a complete map of the country’s laws, including both national and local laws. This map will be linked with other important information, like court decisions, government actions, and public services, all powered by AI.

The announcement about this new office was made during a Cabinet meeting on Monday. The meeting was led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai. It took place at Al Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi.
This new system will help the government track how laws are affecting society and the economy in real-time. It will use big data to analyze and understand this impact. The system will also suggest changes to laws based on what is needed as the country grows and develops. Sheikh Mohammed said that this AI-powered system will change how laws are made, making the process faster, more accurate, and in line with the UAE’s fast-paced growth. He also emphasized that the system would follow global best practices for laws.
Additionally, the office will be connected to international research and policy centers. This will allow the UAE to stay updated with the best and most innovative law-making systems used around the world.
