Promoting Islamic Values and National Identity

The Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Quran Competition is part of the “Ghiras Al Khair” initiative. This initiative focuses on instilling Islamic values, promoting the Arabic language, and strengthening national identity among young students.

His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi highlighted the strong partnership between IACAD and KHDA, emphasizing their shared commitment to community development. He congratulated all the students and recognized the hard work of teachers and staff at the Maktoum Holy Quran and Sciences Centres. He praised their efforts in creating a competitive learning environment that motivates students to excel in Quran memorization and recitation.

Large Participation from Various Schools and Nationalities

This year’s competition saw participation from 1,104 students representing 32 private schools in Dubai. These students came from 41 different nationalities, reflecting the city’s cultural diversity.

The competition was divided into different grade levels. The largest group included 472 students from grades one to four, followed by 415 students from grades five to eight, and 217 students from grades nine to twelve.

Additionally, 20 students of determination participated in the competition, with five of them emerging as winners. Their participation showcased their dedication and perseverance, making the event even more special.

Recognizing the Role of Parents and Teachers

Her Excellency Aisha Miran praised the efforts of all students who took part in the competition, describing them as ambassadors of Islamic values. She noted that their dedication serves as an inspiration for their classmates and the wider community.

She also expressed gratitude to school coordinators, teachers, and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department for their support. Most importantly, she acknowledged the role of parents in encouraging their children to develop their skills in Quran memorization and recitation.

Strengthening Educational and Cultural Goals

The partnership between IACAD and KHDA continues to focus on sharing knowledge and experiences to promote Islamic cultural activities in schools across Dubai. Their goal is to ensure that Islamic values remain an essential part of students’ education.

The Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Quran Competition for School Students in Dubai is now an annual event that aligns with the UAE’s vision for education and culture. It provides a meaningful platform for students to showcase their dedication to learning and preserving the teachings of the Holy Quran.
