Traffic Adjustments Near IGI Stadium for A.R. Rahman Event

Traffic adjustments will be in effect around Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi due to A.R. Rahman’s concert titled “Harmony of Hearts,” scheduled for Saturday night. The Delhi Traffic Police indicates that the concert will occur from 6 pm to 10 pm, prompting controlled traffic movement in surrounding areas for safety and crowd management.

Officials warn that routes such as IP Marg, Vikas Marg, and the Ring Road between Rajghat and IP Depot may experience significant congestion. If necessary, traffic on IP Marg and Vikas Marg will need to be redirected, and heavy vehicles will be prohibited from traveling from Rajghat to IP Marg during the event. Commuters are advised to steer clear of these roads from 12 noon to 11 pm on December 20 to mitigate any disruptions.

The advisory also specifies parking protocols. Limited parking is available solely for vehicles with valid parking permits around the venue. Vehicles must visibly display the parking permit on the windscreen with the corresponding vehicle number. Cars lacking valid permits will be barred from accessing the location. Permit holders are encouraged to enter via the Ring Road and utilize MGM Road for parking access.

No parking will be permitted along either side of the Ring Road between Rajghat and the IP flyover during the concert. Vehicles improperly parked may be towed, and further legal measures could ensue.

For access to the stadium, gates 7 and 8 are reachable from Velodrome Road, while gates 21, 22, and 23 can be accessed from MGM Road on the Ring Road. Additional entry points, gates 16 and 18, will also be available from MGM Road. Commuters are encouraged to finalize their travel plans ahead of the event.
