In the realm of real estate, 2023 marked a year of opulence, particularly in the residential sector, with high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) and their families indulging in luxury home purchases across key Indian cities—Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, and Bengaluru. As the year draws to a close, Moneycontrol presents a curated list of the top 10 luxury home deals executed by HNIs during this period.

Mumbai Real Estate Market:

1. Radhakrishna Damani and Family:
   In a headline-grabbing deal, family members and associates of D’Mart founder Radhakrishna Damani secured 28 housing units worth Rs 1,238 crore in Mumbai's Worli area. The properties, located in Tower B of Three Sixty West by Oberoi Realty, boast a total carpet area of 1,82,084 square feet, including 101 car parks.

2. Taparia Family:
   J P Taparia's family, associated with Famy Care, acquired six sea-facing properties worth approximately Rs 369 crore in Mumbai from Macrotech Developers Ltd. The units, part of projects like Oberoi Three Sixty West and Lodha Malabar, come with 20 car parking slots and cover an area of 27,160.6 sq ft.

3. Niraj Bajaj of Bajaj Auto:
   Bajaj Auto Chairman Niraj Bajaj made headlines with his purchase of a sea-facing triplex apartment in Lodha Malabar Palaces by the Sea, Malabar Hill, for Rs 252.5 crore. This luxurious residence on the 31st floor spans 18,008 sq ft and includes eight car parking slots.

4. Welspun Group:
   BK Goenka, Chairman of Welspun Group, acquired a penthouse for Rs 230 crore in Tower B of Three Sixty West in Worli. This spacious residence, located on the 63rd floor, covers a carpet area of 29,885 sq ft with a terrace of 4,815 sq ft and is accompanied by 14 car parking spaces.

Delhi-NCR:

5. Rohatgi Family:
   Vasudha Rohatgi, wife of former Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi, invested Rs 160 crore in a 2,160-square-yard bungalow in Delhi's prestigious Golf Links in February 2023.

6. Bhanu Chopra:
   Businessman Bhanu Chopra, founder of RateGain, entered the elite club of luxury homeowners by purchasing a bungalow at Delhi Golf Links for Rs 127.5 crore in February 2023.

7. Rs 100 Crore Flat in Gurugram:
   A luxury apartment at The Camellias by DLF on Golf Course Road in Gurugram set a new benchmark with a resale value of around Rs 114 crore, showcasing the city's growing prominence in high-end real estate.

Bengaluru Real Estate:

8. Micro Labs:
   Dilip Surana, Chairman and MD of Micro Labs Ltd, made one of Bengaluru's largest luxury home deals by acquiring a bungalow for Rs 66 crore in the Fair Field layout along Devaraj Urs Road.

9. TVS Motors:
   TVS Motors invested Rs 20.93 crore in a bungalow located in Bengaluru's Koramangala area, featuring two floors, four bedrooms, a basement, and a covered garage.

10. NRJN Family Trust:
    NRJN Family Trust, established by Infosys co-founder Nandan M Nilekani, concluded a significant deal by selling a property in Bengaluru’s Billionaire Street Koramangala area for Rs 54.70 crore in January 2023.
