Dubai: Tesla has started free Supercharging at key locations across the UAE and other Gulf countries. This step is aimed at helping electric vehicle users during the current period of uncertainty in the region.
The free charging service began at midnight local time. It covers more than 30 Supercharging stations across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
The decision came after a request from an Emirati Tesla user and follows Tesla’s usual approach during emergencies. Elon Musk has earlier said that the company provides free Supercharging in difficult situations to support communities.
UAE Coverage Expands
The UAE has the highest number of free charging stations under this move. These stations are located across major cities, highways, and residential areas.
Abu Dhabi locations include:
Al Dhanna, Al Maryah, Al Mirfa, Masdar Central Park, Masdar City Centre, Yas Mall Hypermarket LG, and Yas Mall Main Entrance.
Dubai locations include:
Abu Hail, Al Habtoor City, Dubai Hills Grand Atrium, Dubai Hills Storm Coaster, Dubai Mall Za’abeel, Mall of the Emirates, Meadows Village, Wadi Al Safa, and Wafi City.
Northern Emirates include:
Ajman City Centre, Al Ain, Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Fujairah, and Hatta.
Other key areas:
Jebel Ali highway routes, Sharjah City Centre, Rahmania Mall, Suyoh Mall, and Al Naeem Mall in Ras Al Khaimah.
Other Gulf Locations
In Saudi Arabia, free charging is available in Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah (including Al Ajawad Street and Al Amir Sultan), and Taif.
In Qatar, the service is active at Doha Festival City.
Support During Uncertain Times
This move reduces charging costs for Tesla users and helps ensure smooth travel. It is especially important as people face longer travel times, route changes, and uncertainty in daily commutes.
Tesla has taken similar steps before in the United States during extreme weather and power outages. The company continues to position its charging network as a support system during emergencies.
