First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) has donated AED20 million to support the Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans, a key humanitarian initiative in the UAE.
The initiative was launched by Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority - Awqaf Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Its main goal is to create a sustainable financial system to support orphan care across the country and improve their long-term stability and quality of life.
FAB’s contribution highlights the role of national financial institutions in supporting humanitarian efforts. It also aligns with the objectives of the UAE’s Year of Family, which focuses on strengthening social bonds and supporting vulnerable groups in society.
The bank’s participation reflects its belief in endowments as a powerful tool for sustainable development. Through this initiative, FAB aims to support programmes that empower orphans, improve access to education and healthcare, and ensure better living conditions for them.
The Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans initiative is designed to turn community contributions into long-term investment assets. These funds are managed through an approved endowment model that generates continuous returns, which are then used to support orphans in key areas such as education and healthcare.
The initiative was officially launched at the start of Ramadan 2026. It is part of a broader national vision inspired by the humanitarian legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father. The programme also aims to promote a culture of giving and encourage community participation in sustainable development projects across the country.
