Dubai, UAE – TECOM Group PJSC (DFM: TECOM), a leading developer of specialised business districts and communities, has acquired an integrated university campus in Dubai International Academic City for AED 125 million, strengthening Dubai’s higher education ecosystem.

The newly acquired campus spans over 300,000 square feet and includes multiple buildings. The move comes in response to strong demand from international universities seeking high-quality educational infrastructure in Dubai.

The acquisition aligns with key UAE and Dubai government initiatives, including the National Strategy for Higher Education 2030, Dubai Economic Agenda D33, and Education 33 Strategy (E33), which aim to position Dubai as a global hub for education and talent development.

This investment further enhances TECOM Group’s Education Cluster, which includes Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park. The cluster is currently operating at an exceptional 99% occupancy rate and hosts more than 85% of students enrolled in private higher education institutions in Dubai.

Since its listing in July 2022, TECOM Group has invested over AED 5.5 billion across its commercial and industrial portfolio. The company also plans to upgrade and enhance the newly acquired campus to meet the highest international quality standards.

Commenting on the acquisition, Abdulla Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer of TECOM Group, said the move reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening the higher education sector and supporting Dubai’s long-term development goals. He added that Dubai International Academic City is well positioned to attract academic institutions and talent from around the world.

The acquisition was financed through TECOM Group’s existing resources, while maintaining a strong liquidity and leverage position. It was completed following strict regulatory and governance procedures, including independent evaluations approved by regulatory authorities.

Dubai International Academic City is home to globally recognised universities such as Amity University Dubai, IIM Ahmedabad’s first international campus, University of Birmingham Dubai, American University in the Emirates, and Manipal Academy of Higher Education. The education district currently supports over 38,500 students, offering bachelor’s to postgraduate programmes, research facilities, and student accommodation within a purpose-built academic environment.
