On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, 'Surya Tilak' adorned the forehead of Lord Ram Lalla idol at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. This phenomenon, symbolizing divine radiance, was achieved through an elaborate mechanism involving mirrors and lenses, tested by scientists from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee.

The planned size of the tilak was 58 mm, with an approximate duration of three to three-and-a-half minutes, including two minutes of full illumination. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his election rally in Assam's Nalbari, acknowledged this historic occasion, highlighting the significance of Lord Ram's presence in his grand temple after a wait of 500 years.

PM Modi's social media post extended heartfelt greetings for Ram Navami, emphasizing the significance of witnessing the Pran-Pratishtha in Ayodhya. Devotees flocked to Ayodhya, taking holy dips in the Saryu River before visiting the temple. 'Darshan' commenced at 3:30 am, allowing devotees inside the temple premises.

Security arrangements were in place, ensuring the safety of devotees. An optomechanical system, engineered by CBRI scientists, facilitated the Surya Abhishek of Ram Lalla, aligning with PM Modi's suggestion during his visit to Ayodhya in 2022. This year's Ram Navami marked the first celebration since the consecration of the Ram idol at the new temple, inaugurated by PM Modi in January.

LED screens were installed, enabling people to witness the festivities, while scientists calculated the timings of Surya Tilak based on the Sun's movement. The celebration resonated with unparalleled joy, reflecting the culmination of years of devotion, sacrifice, and the aspirations of millions of devotees.
