Kaur and Yuvraj Named in Stadium Tribute

At the New Chandigarh Stadium, India’s women's team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and former men's allrounder Yuvraj Singh were celebrated with stands named in their honour. This acknowledgement took place just before the second T20I between India and South Africa, attended by both legends alongside their families, teammates, and Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Prior to the match, Yuvraj inspired the Indian team with an uplifting speech.

Yuvraj Singh, who hung up his boots in 2019, debuted for India in 2000, accumulating records across 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is. Notably, he was a pivotal player in India’s inaugural T20 World Cup triumph in 2007 and helped lead the country to victory in the 2011 ODI World Cup, where he was named Player of the Series with a tally of 362 runs and 15 wickets.

Harmanpreet Kaur recently captained India to their first-ever Women's World Cup victory in November 2025. Her international career commenced in 2009, and she has since played six Tests, 161 ODIs, and 182 T20Is, amassing 4409 runs in ODIs and 3654 in T20Is.

The stands' inauguration commemorates their outstanding contributions to Indian cricket and continues to inspire upcoming cricketers nationwide.
