A small plane crashed on Sunday, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Albany, the capital of New York State. The plane, which was carrying six people, went down in a muddy field around 12:15 p.m. local time in Copake, New York, near the Massachusetts state line.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, the aircraft was a Mitsubishi MU-2B. It was supposed to land at the Columbia County Airport, which is near Hudson, New York. Authorities from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the local police are investigating the cause of the crash.
At this time, it is not clear whether anyone on board was injured or if there were any fatalities. The authorities have not provided further details, but they are working to understand what led to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
