His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, has issued Decision No. (1) of 2026 to form the Supervisory Committee of “Rashid Villages.”
The committee will be chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Members of the committee include:
The Director General of the Office of the Crown Prince of Dubai (Vice Chairman)
The Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai
The CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives
The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society
The Chairman of the Board of Al Jalila Medical Education and Research Support Foundation
The Director of the Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will serve as Secretary of the Committee. The rapporteur will be appointed by a decision issued by the Chairman.
According to the decision, the Supervisory Committee will oversee the Rashid Villages project, approve its plans and initiatives, monitor implementation, and coordinate between relevant entities. The committee will also approve reports, set policies and regulatory frameworks, address challenges, and supervise governance, risk management, and the proper use of resources.
The Chairman is authorised to issue directives necessary to implement the provisions of this decision. The decision comes into effect from the date of issuance.
“Rashid Villages” is a charitable initiative launched in 2025 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to mark the tenth anniversary of the passing of his late brother, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The initiative aims to continue his humanitarian legacy by establishing model villages that support underprivileged families. These villages will provide access to housing, education, healthcare, and essential social services, helping families build a stable and dignified life.
