His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who is the Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Airports, and also the Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, met with top leaders from the global finance world during the Dubai FinTech Summit 2025.
This big event brought together over 9,000 people from more than 120 countries. These included CEOs, investors, technology experts, government officials, and others who are helping shape the future of financial technology, or fintech.
Some of the well-known attendees at the meeting were Ashok Vaswani, CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank; Monica Long, President of Ripple; and Justin Grooms, President of Bolt. The meeting focused on finding ways to work together to grow digital payment systems and boost innovation in the financial industry.

Sheikh Ahmed welcomed all the guests and said Dubai is ready to support global financial leaders. He shared that the city has world-class digital systems, flexible rules, and a strong vision for the future. He also mentioned that Dubai is always working to update its rules to match the fast changes happening in areas like finance. This is helping the city stay strong as a global financial center.
The meeting was also attended by other important leaders from Dubai’s financial world. These included His Excellency Essa Kazim, who is the Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC); His Excellency Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD Group; and Arif Amiri, the CEO of DIFC Authority.
The discussions at the meeting were in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. This plan aims to make Dubai one of the world’s top four financial centers by 2033 and add AED 100 billion every year to the economy through digital progress.
The meeting also talked about how DIFC is playing a big role in bringing advanced financial technology to the region. It is also acting as a key place for partnerships between companies from different parts of the world. DIFC is helping make Dubai a place where new financial ideas and technologies can grow.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the future goals of major companies. For example, Kotak Mahindra Bank spoke about plans to grow its digital banking services worldwide. Ripple shared its work on blockchain-based payments and Web3 technology. Bolt highlighted its focus on making global money transfers smooth and safe.
This meeting showed Dubai’s strong focus on supporting new ideas in finance and helping companies connect and grow in a fast-changing digital world.
