Gaza has endured over 600 days of humanitarian crisis, with widespread displacement, food and water shortages, damaged infrastructure, and frequent power outages. Children born into war-torn conditions face daily trauma, and essential services like schools and hospitals remain crippled .
Amid this backdrop, the Sharjah Charity Association is intensifying its relief efforts. Under campaigns named “Compassion for Gaza” and “Gallant Knight 3,” in line with directives from UAE leadership, the charity has delivered 116,000 aid packs to date . The organisation has distributed over 32,000 food parcels to families in shelters and camps, in addition to 10,000 heavy blankets and warm clothing to counter winter hardships.
Chairman Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi highlighted the role of aid in both immediate relief and longer-term recovery. “Standing with the people of Gaza is a humanitarian and religious duty,” he said on the eve of World Refugee Day, adding that support reflects the UAE’s broader commitment through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and global partners.

Special attention has been paid to vulnerable groups. The charity supplied 1,728 baby formula packs—products that had vanished from local markets—and 3,000 school bags complete with stationery to support returning students. These efforts aim to assist children determined to continue their education amid extreme adversity.
Water scarcity prompted a multi-faceted approach. Water tankers were deployed across Gaza, damaged wells repaired, and 12 new wells are being dug to serve roughly 312,000 residents. To bolster food security, 20 field kitchens now serve daily meals to around 45,000 people, while 10 community bakeries produce bread for about 9,500 residents, easing critical shortages.
This latest surge in aid complements previous UAE efforts. Earlier in June and May, UAE convoys and sea shipments delivered over 1,000 tonnes of food and flour under Gallant Knight 3 operations. In May, a ship carrying 2,100 tonnes of humanitarian supplies docked in Ashdod, then moved into Gaza via 123 trucks.
These initiatives build on a broader humanitarian footprint. Between October 2023 and November 2024, the UAE contributed approximately 42% of all aid to Gaza—about $828 million in relief—through land, sea, and air channels.
Sheikh Saqr emphasized that the association’s mission extends beyond material aid, offering solidarity and hope. He called on global partners to continue supporting Gaza amid its profound suffering, stressing this aid is "more than material—it is a message of unity from the UAE”.
