The Saudi Paralympic athletics team achieved remarkable success at the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, held in Riyadh in 2025. Hani Al-Nakhli emerged as a standout performer, winning the gold medal in the discus throw competition. He threw an impressive distance of 30.92 meters, earning a total of 950 points. The silver medal went to a Jordanian athlete, who scored 893 points, while the bronze medal was claimed by an Iraqi competitor with 881 points. Al-Nakhli’s performance highlighted his skill, strength, and dedication, contributing to Saudi Arabia’s strong medal tally in athletics.
In addition to Al-Nakhli, other Saudi athletes also excelled. Hussain Al-Hizam claimed gold in the pole vault competition, clearing a height of 5.65 meters. His performance demonstrated excellent technique and consistency, earning him top honors in this challenging event. Abdulaziz Al-Atafi also represented Saudi Arabia successfully in the 100-meter race. He finished with a time of 10.32 seconds, winning the silver medal. The gold medal in this event was taken by a runner from Oman, while the bronze went to a competitor from Cameroon.
Saudi athletes showed depth in talent across multiple events. Raed Aljadani, another promising runner, qualified for the finals of the 1500-meter race. He completed the qualifiers in fifth place with a time of 4:02.58 minutes. His qualification for the finals showcased his endurance and tactical running skills. Aljadani’s performance was a positive sign for Saudi athletics as he prepares for future competitions at international levels.
