YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul is preparing for the biggest fight of his career as he goes head-to-head with former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on December 19. The bout, set for eight three-minute rounds, will be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami and streamed live on Netflix, promising a global audience an intense clash in the heavyweight division.
Paul, 28, boasts a professional record of 12 wins and 1 loss, with 7 victories by knockout. His most recent fight came in June when he defeated former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision. Speaking ahead of the fight, Paul said, “This isn’t an AI simulation. This is Judgement Day.” He called the matchup his toughest yet and highlighted that a victory could open doors for a world title shot.
Joshua, 36, is a two-time unified heavyweight world champion and Olympic gold medallist. The British fighter has not stepped into the ring since his September 2024 loss to Daniel Dubois in an IBF title fight. Joshua, determined for a strong comeback, said, “Jake or anyone can get this work. No mercy. I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights, and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm, and collected.”
The fight has generated significant buzz, as Paul looks to prove himself against an elite world champion, while Joshua aims to reclaim his status in the heavyweight ranks. Fans can expect a high-octane showdown filled with drama, power, and skill, as both fighters seek to make a defining statement in their careers.
