San Antonio, Texas – A devastating workplace shooting claimed the lives of three employees at a landscape supply company on Saturday morning, leaving the city in shock. Authorities confirmed that the 21-year-old gunman, identified as Jose Hernandez Galo, also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. at the company’s north-side location. Police reports indicate that the victims included two men and one woman. Other employees narrowly escaped as gunfire erupted, prompting chaos at the scene.
San Antonio Police Department officials responded promptly, securing the area and beginning a thorough investigation. Police Chief William McManus emphasized that the attack was targeted, stating that the shooting was not a random act of violence. The motive behind the tragic incident remains under investigation.
“The safety of our community and understanding the circumstances behind this tragedy are our top priorities,” Chief McManus said during a press briefing.
Authorities continue to piece together events leading up to the shooting, interviewing witnesses and examining the company premises for clues. Local law enforcement confirmed that detectives are actively investigating the incident to uncover the motive and any potential warning signs.
The San Antonio community has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life, with colleagues and friends remembering the victims as dedicated employees. Counseling and support services are being offered to those affected.
This tragic shooting highlights ongoing concerns about workplace safety and gun violence in the United States. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward as investigations continue.
