Salik Company PJSC, the only toll gate operator in Dubai, has been added to the MSCI UAE Index, as announced on May 13, 2025. This index is one of the most important tools that global investors use when choosing companies in Emerging Markets to invest in. Being included in the index means more attention from big investors around the world.
The MSCI UAE Index is part of a bigger index called the MSCI EEMEA Index, which covers markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This index tracks how large and mid-sized UAE companies perform in the stock market. When a company is added to this index, it often helps its shares become more active and attractive to both local and international investors—especially those focused on growing economies.
Salik earned its spot in this index thanks to the success of its new strategy launched in 2024. As part of its toll gate services, Salik opened two more gates in Dubai. This raised the total number of gates from eight to ten. They also introduced dynamic pricing, which means the toll prices can change based on the time of day or traffic, which helps bring in more money.

But Salik isn’t only working on tolls. The company has also partnered with Emaar Malls and Parkonic to grow its business in the parking sector. They also signed a special insurance partnership with Liva, a well-known insurance company in the GCC. These extra services help Salik earn money in new ways.
To be included in the MSCI Index, companies need to meet specific standards in market size, how many shares are available to the public, and trading activity. Salik met all these requirements, showing its strong financial performance and solid business model, which investors from both the UAE and abroad appreciate.
Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO of Salik, said:
“Being added to the MSCI UAE Index is a proud moment for us. It shows the world that Salik is growing and performing well. We thank our investors for believing in us. This step proves the strength of our business and our plan for the future. We want to become a global leader in smart and eco-friendly transportation solutions. We will keep working hard to bring more value to our shareholders in 2025 and beyond.”
The changes in the MSCI UAE Index, including Salik’s addition, will officially take place on June 2, 2025.
