Dubai’s toll operator, Salik Company PJSC, has officially joined the International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association (IBTTA), the world’s leading organisation for toll road systems. The announcement was made during Salik’s participation in the Global Tolling Summit in Lyon, France, which gathered global leaders, government officials, and companies at the forefront of the roads and tolling sector.
IBTTA, headquartered in Washington, D.C., brings together toll operators, government bodies, and specialized organisations from around the world to exchange expertise on road infrastructure, including bridges, tunnels, and highways. Founded in 1932, the association promotes innovation, sustainable development, and the adoption of advanced mobility solutions across the sector.
Salik’s membership marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey and highlights Dubai’s commitment to adopting global best practices in tolling and intelligent mobility. The move is expected to deepen cooperation with international tolling systems and enhance Dubai’s standing as a global hub for smart and sustainable transport solutions.

Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO of Salik, said, “We are proud to join IBTTA and look forward to actively contributing to its objectives. By sharing Dubai’s experience, we aim to help shape the future of sustainable urban mobility. We also aspire to host a future IBTTA Annual Meeting in Dubai, a city recognized for smart mobility and innovation.”
On the sidelines of the summit, Al Haddad met with IBTTA board members to discuss strategic collaborations, review the outlook for tolling and intelligent transportation, and explore the potential of hosting a future IBTTA Annual Meeting in Dubai. The discussions also included meetings with international partners, including TransCore’s senior executives, to explore advanced tolling and transportation solutions.
Salik has consistently set regional benchmarks in tolling operations by implementing innovative technologies to ensure efficient and seamless experiences for road users. The company has previously received IBTTA accolades such as the Toll Excellence Award and the Technology Award, recognizing its deployment of advanced intelligent systems.
The Global Tolling Summit featured forward-looking sessions on infrastructure financing, engineering innovations in future roads, AI-enabled tolling solutions, workforce challenges in 24/7 operations, and global road safety initiatives, providing a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange among global experts.
With its IBTTA membership, Salik strengthens Dubai’s leadership in intelligent mobility while positioning itself to influence global best practices in tolling and sustainable urban transport.
