A terrible accident happened in Mumbai’s Kurla West on Monday night involving a BEST bus. The bus lost control and hit pedestrians and vehicles on SG Barve Marg, a busy road near Kurla station. The accident caused the death of seven people, and 42 others were injured. Rescue teams quickly reached the spot and took the injured to nearby hospitals.
The bus was going from Kurla station to Sakinaka when the driver lost control. Over a stretch of 100 meters, the bus crashed into 30-40 vehicles and dragged them along. It finally stopped when it hit the RCC column of the Solomon Building and broke its compound wall. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) confirmed that the bus was an electric vehicle made by Olectra Greentech, a company from Hyderabad. BEST had rented this bus as part of its fleet.
The driver, Sanjay More, has been taken into custody by the police. BEST officials said the bus sped up uncontrollably when the driver lost control. They are now investigating why this happened and whether it was due to a mechanical problem or driver error.

This accident caused chaos on SG Barve Marg, which is one of the busiest roads in Kurla. This road connects Kurla station to other important areas, and thousands of people use it daily. After the crash, the road was closed to traffic, and buses on ten routes were diverted to other areas.
The crash also damaged several vehicles and created panic in the area. The bus entered a residential colony called Buddha Colony before finally coming to a halt. Residents and onlookers were shocked by the scale of the destruction.
Three people were found dead at the crash site on Monday night, and four more lost their lives later. The injured are being treated at nearby hospitals, and many are in serious condition. The accident has left the area in mourning as families grieve for their loved ones.
The police and transport officials are now investigating what caused the accident. They are questioning the driver and checking if the bus had any technical faults. This tragic event has raised questions about road safety and the maintenance of public transport vehicles.
The Kurla accident has shaken the city. Authorities are working to find answers and prevent such accidents in the future. Meanwhile, residents are left to deal with the pain and loss caused by this unfortunate event.
