Mohammed bin Rashid Issues Decree Establishing Board for Dubai Women's Development

In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also serving as Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued Decree No. (39) of 2024 to establish the Board of Directors for the Dubai Women Establishment (DWE). The newly formed Board is chaired by Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, who currently holds the position of Managing Director at DWE. Serving as Vice Chairperson is Hala Badri. Other distinguished members of the Board include Huda Al Hashimi, Huda Buhumaid, Khawla Al Muhairi, Fahima Al Bastaki, Moaza Saeed Al Marri, Khadija Al Bastaki, and the CEO of DWE.

Expressing her appreciation, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of DWE and wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, thanked Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his unwavering commitment to empowering Emirati women. She congratulated the newly appointed Board members and conveyed her best wishes for their success in enhancing the capabilities of Emirati women. She also recognized the contributions of the previous Board members to DWE's initiatives.

Her Highness emphasized the deep expertise of the new Board members, highlighting their pivotal role in advancing DWE's objectives to increase the participation of Emirati women in various sectors of the economy and society. This aligns with DWE's overarching strategy to position Dubai as a global benchmark for women-friendly cities, in line with the visionary leadership of the UAE.

Since its inception in 2006, DWE has been instrumental in realizing Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision of empowering women in the UAE. Her Highness reaffirmed DWE's commitment to this mission, aiming to integrate international best practices into its strategies and initiatives. The new Decree is effective immediately upon issuance and will be officially published in the Official Gazette, marking a significant step forward in DWE's ongoing efforts to support and empower women across Dubai and beyond.
