Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman from December 15 to 18, 2025, aiming to bolster India’s relationships with critical partners in the Middle East and Africa. He will kick off his trip in Jordan on December 15–16 at the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. During this visit, Modi will engage with the King to assess the full spectrum of India–Jordan relations while discussing pivotal regional matters. This tour coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Jordan, offering a significant opportunity to deepen cooperation and explore new partnership avenues while reaffirming India’s dedication to peace and stability in the region.
Following Jordan, the Prime Minister will head to Ethiopia on December 16–17 for a State visit, invited by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali. This marks Modi’s inaugural visit to Ethiopia, where both leaders will engage in comprehensive discussions covering various facets of India–Ethiopia relations, aiming to enhance their partnership as prominent members of the Global South. Their discussions will highlight their mutual commitment to fostering friendship, development cooperation, and shared growth.
Concluding the tour, Prime Minister Modi will proceed to Oman from December 17–18, invited by Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. This visit is notable as it marks Modi’s second trip to the Sultanate, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Oman. The two nations maintain a robust Strategic Partnership, rooted in long-standing historical ties, trade, cultural connections, and strong people-to-people interactions. Discussions will encompass cooperation in diverse fields such as energy, defence, investment, security, technology, agriculture, and culture. Additionally, both sides will deliberate on regional and global issues of importance, thus fortifying India’s engagement with the Middle East, East Africa, and beyond.
