Meta has shared a new version of its smart computer program. This new version is called Llama 4. It comes in two types — Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick. Meta says these are the best and smartest versions they have ever made.

Llama 4 can understand many things like writing, pictures, sounds, and even videos. It can also change one thing into another — like turning a picture into words. This makes it very useful for many jobs.

Meta said both Scout and Maverick will be free for anyone to use, learn from, and build on. They also said another bigger version, called Llama 4 Behemoth, is coming soon. This one will be even stronger and will help teach newer models.

Many big companies are putting a lot of money into these smart computer tools after ChatGPT became very popular. Meta wants to stay on top, so they are working hard.

But there were some problems. A report said Meta had to wait before showing Llama 4 because it wasn’t good enough at solving puzzles or doing math. Also, it didn’t sound as real as other tools when it talked like a person.

Still, Meta plans to spend a lot — about $65 billion this year — to make its smart systems better. They hope this hard work will show good results and make people believe in what Meta is building.
