Dubai Police Adds Mercedes SL, GT & EQS to Patrol Fleet

Dubai Police marked World Tourism Day on 27 September by unveiling three new luxury patrol vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, further enhancing its renowned fleet. The new additions – the Mercedes SL 55 AMG, Mercedes GT 63 AMG, and the electric Mercedes EQS 580 – were officially inaugurated during a ceremony hosted by the Tourism Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

Brigadier Saeed Al Hajri, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, led the inauguration. The event was attended by Colonel Omar Al Mutawa, Deputy Director for Administration Affairs, Lt. Colonel Muhammad Abdulrahman, Director of Tourism Police, and senior representatives from Mercedes-Benz including Mr. Thomas Schulz, General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Mr. Ali Gargash, Deputy General Manager, Mr. Fadi Ballout, General Manager of Used Cars, and Mr. Khalid Al Mazroui, Senior Manager of VIP Sales and Customer Relations.

The three luxury vehicles come equipped with advanced sustainable transport systems and artificial intelligence features. They include interactive displays offering drivers real-time information, enhancing both safety and performance.

Brigadier Al Hajri praised the partnership with Gargash Enterprises, the official Mercedes-Benz dealer in Dubai, highlighting the importance of the fleet in boosting police visibility at tourist destinations such as Burj Khalifa, Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), and other high-traffic areas. He said the initiative reflects Dubai Police’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its fleet with the latest vehicles while providing tourists and residents with safety, assistance, and information.

“This initiative not only strengthens security across tourist hotspots but also reinforces the role of Dubai Police in serving the community and showcasing the city’s modern image,” Brigadier Al Hajri added.

Mr. Thomas Schulz, General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Cars, called the collaboration a “strategic cooperation” and praised the partnership for pioneering sustainable and modern mobility solutions.

The ceremony concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields between Brigadier Al Hajri and Mr. Schulz, underscoring the strong ties between Dubai Police and Mercedes-Benz.
