Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), inaugurated the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum at Expo City Dubai today. This new addition enriches Dubai's flourishing museum sector and reaffirms the city's status as a leader in cultural innovation locally, regionally, and internationally.
In her remarks, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa highlighted that Expo 2020 Dubai showcases Dubai's global leadership in innovation and its commitment to future readiness. Sheikha Latifa stated, "Dubai, through the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum, continues its pivotal role in activating a sustainable intellectual and cultural movement by documenting the essence of our historic world exhibition and preserving those memories for future generations. The Expo 2020 Dubai Museum stands among a group of cultural destinations and experiences that reflect the significance of Expo City Dubai as a hub for culture and learning. This enhances Dubai’s position as a creative and sustainable global city for culture, heritage, arts, and literature, empowering these sectors and fostering innovative creative projects and initiatives to embody Dubai’s ambitious vision in line with the aspirations of its leadership."

Following the inauguration ceremony, a private event was hosted at the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum, reflecting the themes of the World Expo. Thought leaders discussed the importance of sustainability, technology, and culture, and explored how society can learn from the past while aspiring for the future.
The museum will officially open its doors to the public on Saturday, May 18, aligning with International Museum Day. This aligns with Dubai's plans to host the International Council of Museums (ICOM) General Conference in 2025. The conference will gather the international museum community under the theme ‘The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities,’ further solidifying the UAE’s reputation as a capital of culture, creativity, and innovation.
Expo City Dubai and Dubai Culture established a dynamic partnership last year to enhance the emirate's arts and culture scene. This collaboration focuses on empowering creatives and young talent, highlighting Emirati heritage, and reinforcing the UAE's global standing as a creative hub.
The Expo 2020 Dubai Museum stands as a testament to Dubai’s commitment to cultural preservation and innovation, embodying the city's vision for a sustainable and creative future. The museum documents the historic Expo 2020, preserving its legacy and inspiring future generations with the achievements and cultural milestones it celebrated.
