Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz, aged 88, departed King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah following what Saudi state media termed "a routine check-up," as reported on Wednesday by the royal court. The monarch had been admitted to the hospital earlier the same day.
King Salman, revered as the Custodian of Islam's holiest sites, ascended to the throne of the world's leading oil exporter in 2015 after over two and a half years as the crown prince and deputy premier.

This hospital visit follows a similar occurrence in May 2022 when the King underwent a colonoscopy and underwent various medical examinations. Moreover, in 2020, King Salman underwent gallbladder surgery, further indicating the monarch's periodic health interventions.
