The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced the launch of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, scheduled to commence with its first round at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City from June 28 to June 30, 2024. This initial event kicks off a series of competitions spanning Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah throughout the year. The championship will feature categories for kids, youth, adults, and masters, with three rounds dedicated to the Gi (suits) category and two rounds for the no-Gi (non-suits) category.
Over 3,000 athletes, aged four and above, representing various clubs and academies, have registered for the championship. Competitors will vie for medals and cash prizes exceeding AED 1.5 million, culminating in the ultimate championship title in December. A robust ranking system will assess athletes and clubs based on their performance across all rounds.
The tournament's first day will highlight competitions for men and women in the U18, adults, and masters categories, while the second day focuses on junior categories, including girls U12, U14, and U16. The event concludes on June 30 with competitions in boys U12, U14, and U16 categories.
