New Delhi: John Cena, a 16-time WWE Champion, has revealed plans to retire from in-ring competition effective 2025. The announcement came as a surprise during his appearance at the 'Money in the Bank' event in Toronto today.
The 47-year-old WWE icon entered the ring holding a towel emblazoned with a modified version of his famous catchphrase, "My Time Is Now," now altered to read, "The Last Time Is Now." His shirt simply stated, "John Cena Farewell Tour." As Cena addressed the crowd, chants of "No! No! No!" echoed throughout the arena.
"Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from WWE," Cena declared amidst the uproar. He clarified that while his retirement is imminent, he plans to compete in significant events leading up to 2025, including the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Wrestlemania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Since his debut in 2002, Cena has carved out a storied career in professional wrestling, engaging in memorable rivalries with wrestling icons such as The Rock, Triple H, CM Punk, and Randy Orton.
