Israel will release 183 Palestinian prisoners on Saturday as part of a deal to exchange prisoners and hostages. This is the fourth time such an exchange has happened since a ceasefire was agreed in Gaza. A group called the Palestinian Prisoners' Club first said 90 prisoners would be freed, but later updated that number to 183.

The group shared two lists of names of those who will be released. The first list has 72 prisoners who were arrested before the attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The second list has 111 prisoners who were arrested after the attack.
Three hostages will also be freed. Their names are Yarden Bibas, Keith Siegel (who is from the US), and Ofer Kalderon (who holds French citizenship). These hostages had been held for over 15 months.
Since the ceasefire started in January 2024, some hostages have been released, and Israel has freed many Palestinian prisoners, including women and young people. The prisoner release is part of a bigger effort to calm the situation and help start talks for peace in the future.
