  • The company has received the "Future City Pioneer" award, honoring  organizationsthat are leading urban transformation through technology to build more efficient, resilient, and environmentally friendly cities.
  • The award-winning project, deployed in more than 370 public buildings acrossSpain, stands as a tangible example of the potential of technology to drive climate neutrality

April 24, 2025.- IoTsens has taken a major step forward in its international positioning through its participation in AIM Congress, one of the world’s most important investment and development events, held in Abu Dhabi, which brought together over 15,000 attendees from 181 countries.

During the congress, the company showcased its latest technological solutions at its own booth and forged key strategic alliances for its expansion in the Middle East, one of the fastest-growing smart city markets. This milestone further advances IoTsens’ internationalization strategy, capturing the interest of top-tier institutions, companies, and public bodies.

Recognition of innovation, sustainability, and excellence in urban development

The highlight of the event came with the prestigious AIM Future Cities Awards, which celebrate the most transformative projects globally in sustainable urban development. Within this context, IoTsens was awarded the "Future City Pioneer" accolade, recognizing organizations that are at the forefront of applying technologies to build smarter, more resilient, and sustainable cities.

The award jury highlighted IoTsens’ innovation, strong commitment to sustainability, pursuit of technical excellence, and the measurable impact its solutions are delivering in urban environments.

A model for climate neutrality: net zero buildings

The awarded project, deployed in over 370 public buildings across Spain, is a tangible demonstration of how technology can drive progress toward climate neutrality. Through a network of more than 1,800 IoT devices, IoTsens enables real-time monitoring and optimization of electricity, water, gas, and heating consumption, as well as key aspects such as air quality, space occupancy, and lighting.

This infrastructure provides public buildings with accurate, actionable data, resulting in improved energy and environmental performance. The true value of this initiative lies in its ability to accelerate the transition to net zero models, where buildings balance the energy they consume with what they produce or offset, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions.

Technology with global impact in the fight against climate change

The technological solution developed by IoTsens—based on LoRaWAN connectivity and seamless integration with municipal platforms via APIs—not only enhances building efficiency but also marks a turning point in how cities manage their resources.

With a scalable and replicable model, this technology has the potential to be implemented in urban environments worldwide, contributing directly to decarbonizing public infrastructure, optimizing resources, and enhancing citizen well-being. In essence, it is a key tool for tackling climate change from the urban perspective.

Recognition on a global stage

The award was presented by H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade and President of AIM Congress, during the official gala held at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Abu Dhabi, in front of more than 1,200 international guests.

This recognition represents a major international endorsement of IoTsens’ track record and strengthens its leadership as a driver of a new generation of smart cities: more connected, sustainable, and people-centered.
