The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported that the hunger crisis in Gaza is getting worse. The situation is being made even more difficult by serious shortages of food and supplies, along with strict restrictions on access to the area.

According to OCHA's daily update, humanitarian groups in central and southern Gaza have run out of supplies at their warehouses. This is happening at a time when Israeli authorities are refusing most requests to send in food assistance.
In addition, about 120,000 metric tonnes of food, which would be enough to feed the entire population of Gaza for more than three months, is stuck outside the region. Humanitarian groups have warned that if no new supplies are allowed in, they will not be able to distribute food to the many families who are struggling with hunger. Over 50 community kitchens, which provide more than 200,000 meals a day in central and southern Gaza, could also be forced to close in the coming days.
OCHA also raised concerns about the lack of fuel, which is making it harder to run generators that are needed for hospitals and other essential services. This fuel shortage is seriously affecting Gaza's already damaged health system, putting the lives of patients in danger.
Meanwhile, ongoing attacks in the northern part of Gaza have disrupted healthcare services for survivors there. OCHA also reported that Israeli authorities have blocked the UN’s efforts to deliver aid to North Gaza, including the most recent attempt made yesterday.
The situation in Gaza continues to worsen as the people there face severe shortages of food, medical supplies, and fuel.
