Beirut, Lebanon: On Tuesday, the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah announced it had launched an attack on the Israeli military intelligence base known as Glilot, located near Tel Aviv. This operation comes in the wake of heightened tensions following the recent killing of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli strike in the Beirut suburbs on Friday.
In a statement, Hezbollah confirmed that it fired multiple Fadi 4 rockets aimed at the Glilot base, which houses Unit 8200 of the Israeli military intelligence, as well as the Mossad headquarters situated on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. This bold move underscores Hezbollah's commitment to retaliating against Israeli actions, particularly after the loss of their leader.

Following Nasrallah's death, Hezbollah named the operation "At Your Service, Nasrallah," reflecting the group's intent to honor their leader through this military response. In late August, Nasrallah had declared that Hezbollah would conduct a large-scale attack against Israel, specifically targeting the Glilot base, which he referred to as the main center for Israeli military intelligence.
However, at that time, the Israeli army reported that Hezbollah had not succeeded in striking the installation. The recent attack may signal a shift in the group’s approach as they seek to assert their capabilities and retaliate for losses they have sustained.
The situation remains tense as both sides prepare for potential escalations in the conflict, with Hezbollah signaling its readiness to confront Israeli forces directly. This incident not only highlights the ongoing hostilities in the region but also raises concerns about the broader implications for stability in Lebanon and Israel.
