His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Derei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat, shared details about the Ramadan programme. More than 20 events will take place during the month, organised with the help of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities. These events will help people learn more about Islam, encourage kindness, and bring families and communities closer.
Dr. Al Derei thanked Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed for always supporting these efforts. He said these activities will help people feel connected and remind them of the values of Ramadan, like being kind, generous, and helping others.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat has planned many activities, including talks about the Quran, competitions, and community programmes. One of the key events, the Forum of the Holy Qur’an, Cosmic Verses, and Human Civilisation, will help people understand the meaning of the Quran in today’s world. The Al Ain Mahareeb event will focus on the design of prayer spaces in mosques, while the Hafeet Religious Talent Competition will allow young people to show their knowledge of religion. A special meeting for imams in Al Ain mosques will also take place to discuss the idea of balance in Islamic teachings.
Other events will include Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which will focus on charity and helping others, following the example of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Mauona programme will provide food and help to families in need. Another event, The Era of Al-Muwaiji, will highlight the history and culture of Al Ain. The Zayed’s Teachings and Advice programme will share lessons and stories about the UAE’s founding father.
Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities will also organise social and cultural activities. There will be lectures at community gathering places, group discussions, and an event called Knowledge is an Inspiring Light, which will give senior Emirati citizens a chance to learn new things. Another special event will be the Iftar programme for senior citizens and People of Determination, which will allow the community to share a meal together. This event, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Police, will show the spirit of Ramadan by encouraging togetherness and kindness.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Al Raisi, Cultural Adviser at the Presidential Court, His Excellency Ahmed Rashid Al Neyadi, Director General of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat, and His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities.
This meeting showed the strong commitment of different organisations to making Ramadan special for people in Al Ain. These activities will help everyone feel the true spirit of the Holy Month by teaching the values of kindness, generosity, and unity.
