Hamas said that 33 hostages held in Gaza have died during the war with Israel. They warned Israel that more hostages could die if the attacks continue. Hamas shared a video explaining how these hostages died and blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for their deaths.
Hamas said that some hostages were killed in bombings by Israel in October 2023. In December 2023, one hostage was killed during an Israeli attempt to rescue a soldier. They also reported more deaths in March and June 2024 during heavy airstrikes in Gaza.

Israel has not responded to these claims yet, but its military actions in Gaza are still ongoing. Israel believes 101 hostages are still being held by Hamas. Hamas says they are willing to release the hostages if Israel ends the war and leaves Gaza. However, Israel's leader Netanyahu insists the war will not stop until Hamas is completely defeated.
This conflict began in October 2023 when Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking more than 250 hostages. Since then, officials in Gaza say over 44,400 Palestinians have died, and many buildings in Gaza have been destroyed. The war has caused immense pain and loss for both sides.
