Dubai, UAE, 19 October 2024: GITEX GLOBAL 2024 concluded on Friday, emphasizing the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in reshaping industries and fueling business and economic growth on a global scale.
The event saw an unprecedented gathering of 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from over 180 countries, marking the highest international participation in the event’s history. This diverse turnout has further established Dubai’s reputation as a premier global hub for technology and innovation.
Over five days, GITEX GLOBAL attracted the most influential technology leaders from around the world, reinforcing its status as the largest and most impactful technology gathering globally. The 44th edition of GITEX GLOBAL, themed “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy,” not only set new benchmarks for innovation and business opportunities but also highlighted the event's crucial role in shaping a technology landscape increasingly defined by AI adoption.
Throughout the week, a variety of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreements were unveiled, signaling a commitment to accelerating the growth of the global AI market, projected to reach USD $1,339.1 billion by 2030, according to Markets and Markets. The inclusion of over 40% new nations at this year’s event, including South Africa, Puerto Rico, and Vietnam, along with Europe’s largest-ever presence, has opened avenues for new cross-regional partnerships among leading and emerging tech nations, further stimulating the growth of the AI ecosystem.

Each day of this mega event focused on pivotal themes such as investment, cybersecurity, data centers, futuristic technology, and AI, all of which are fundamental to the digital economy. The UAE's welcoming stance towards the global ecosystem has strengthened its position as a leader in redefining the world's digital landscape, with many organizations lauding the event's impact and focus on key industry trends.
Key Industry Impact and Strategic Outcomes at GITEX GLOBAL 2024
During GITEX GLOBAL, major players in the tech industry, including Oracle, Dell Technologies, and Microsoft, showcased their latest innovations in AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and edge computing. The event acted as a catalyst for these industry giants to forge new partnerships, drive technological advancements, and contribute significantly to the future of the global digital economy.
Nick Redshaw, Senior Vice President of Tech Cloud for the Middle East and Africa, and UAE Country Leader at Oracle, expressed the company's dedication to supporting the UAE’s AI vision, noting that GITEX GLOBAL 2024 was crucial for Oracle's AI and cloud innovations. Redshaw stated, “At GITEX, we celebrated 35 years of supporting the UAE’s growth ambitions with state-of-the-art local cloud infrastructure and the latest cloud technologies. Our focus is on developing top talent and expanding our local presence to solve complex business challenges across industries and accelerate the UAE and wider Middle East’s AI economy.”
At the event, Oracle announced key collaborations, including a partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment to advance Dubai’s housing strategy through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and a collaboration with Mashreq Bank to support its global expansion. These partnerships highlight how GITEX GLOBAL serves as a premier platform for unveiling strategic innovations and fostering digital transformation in the region.
Dell Technologies also leveraged its participation at GITEX GLOBAL to strengthen its regional presence. Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice President for CEEMETA at Dell Technologies, remarked, “Over the last four decades, GITEX GLOBAL has been a catalyst for advancing technological innovation across the Middle East. Being at GITEX allows us to connect with regional decision-makers and support them in navigating today's rapidly changing business environment.”
Amin further shared insights about discussions surrounding Dell's AI Factory offerings, noting a strong commitment among regional customers to implement innovative AI solutions that drive their businesses forward. “At Dell, we are at the epicenter of our customers’ AI innovations and take pride in helping them embrace their future in AI,” he added.
Similarly, Microsoft utilized GITEX GLOBAL to underscore its initiatives aimed at enhancing the global digital economy. Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, highlighted the findings of their latest Cloud Dividend Snapshot report, which emphasizes the pivotal role of their trusted cloud ecosystem in driving economic growth and job creation in the UAE. Furthermore, he announced the launch of the AI National Skilling Initiative in partnership with key government departments, reiterating Microsoft's commitment to equipping individuals and organizations with the necessary skills to thrive in the AI era. “I’m confident we will continue to witness strong business impacts from GITEX GLOBAL for months to come,” Yazbeck said.

This year’s GITEX GLOBAL served as a strategic forum for addressing urgent challenges and opportunities presented by AI, with a focus on its applications in critical sectors that will shape the global digital future.
Among the highlights was the inaugural World Future Economy Digital Leaders Summit and the debut of GITEX Editions, which spotlighted innovation, connected leading global unicorns, and facilitated discussions on AI regulation, economic strategies, and digital finance.
Cybersecurity emerged as a key theme, stressing the necessity of securing digital infrastructure in the face of evolving cyber threats. Additionally, advancements in future mobility, including autonomous vehicles and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, were showcased, highlighting the auto-tech industry’s innovations.
AI’s role in developing hyperscale, modular, and edge data centers was also a significant focus, addressing the growing demand for scalable solutions and establishing the region as a hub for AI-powered data infrastructure. The GITEX DIGI_HEALTH 5.0 event brought together industry leaders to examine how AI is revolutionizing patient care and reshaping healthcare delivery, emphasizing its transformative potential.
Further discussions covered topics such as 5G, intelligent connectivity, EdTech, digital cities, and energy transitions. Looking ahead, GITEX GLOBAL is poised to seamlessly connect the world's largest network of tech events, with GITEX AFRICA set to take place in Morocco from 14-16 April and GITEX ASIA in Singapore from 23-25 April. Following these events, GITEX EUROPE will be hosted in Berlin from 21-23 May 2025, leading to the inaugural GITEX NIGERIA in September 2025.
