H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the important role that sports play in promoting healthy lifestyles, fair competition, and cultural understanding in society. He noted that sports are not just about winning medals but about fostering respect, teamwork, and communication between people from different backgrounds and cultures.
The Crown Prince made these remarks while attending the grand closing ceremony of the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Mr. and Ms. World Championship and World Professional Championship. The event was held at the Zayed Sports Complex, one of the UAE’s largest and most renowned venues for international sports competitions.
He was joined by prominent figures, including Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (EBBF); Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi; and Rafael Santoga, President of the IFBB. Their presence highlighted the importance of supporting local and international sports initiatives and celebrating athletic achievements.

This year’s championship, held from 5th to 7th September, attracted a staggering 920 athletes representing 116 countries across the globe. Both male and female athletes participated, showcasing extraordinary talent, physical fitness, and dedication to bodybuilding and fitness. The event drew audiences from around the world, turning the Zayed Sports Complex into a hub of international sports excellence.
During his speech, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that sports provide more than physical benefits. They instill discipline, confidence, and resilience, especially among young people. He noted that by encouraging participation in sports, society can promote a culture of healthy living, physical fitness, and positive lifestyle choices.
He also spoke about the cultural and social impact of international events like this. “Sports bring people together, regardless of nationality, religion, or background,” the Crown Prince said. “They teach values such as respect, tolerance, and understanding, which are vital for building a connected and harmonious society.”
The championship featured a wide range of competitions. Athletes were judged on muscle definition, strength, posture, and performance, highlighting not only physical fitness but also artistry and dedication. Female athletes, in particular, received recognition for their achievements, reflecting the growing role of women in professional sports and fitness.
The closing ceremony was a spectacular event, celebrating the success and hard work of all participants. Winners received awards and accolades for their performance, while all athletes were praised for their commitment and perseverance. H.H.
