Dubai, UAE / Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 14 November 2025

The FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup has officially kicked off at LYL International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Set over three days starting from 14th November 2025, this event is designed to enhance accessibility to karting and broaden global participation by lowering financial and technological hurdles. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem emphasized the initiative's goal of creating more opportunities for drivers everywhere.

Emphasizing Global Engagement and Inclusivity

This inaugural event has brought together 107 drivers from 50 nations, including 15 female competitors, showcasing the largest female representation in an FIA Karting event. Participants are utilizing identical, standardised karts courtesy of OTK Group, ensuring a fair competition that prioritizes driver skills over equipment advantages.

Representing the UAE, Aaryan Singh is competing in the Junior segment, while Senior category participant Zain Elhommosany joins after securing the MENA Karting Championship Nations Cup in Qatar. This diverse range reflects the FIA's commitment to fostering grassroots motorsport across various regions.

Additionally, the FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup incorporates educational workshops for participants, focusing on driver safety, nutrition, anti-doping protocols, media training, and understanding the FIA International Karting Ranking framework. These sessions aim to equip young racers with vital skills extending beyond racing, aiding their overall development as athletes.

Akbar Ebrahim, President of the FIA Karting Commission, highlighted that this event serves a more expansive purpose beyond mere racing, offering burgeoning talent a vital platform to exhibit their skills and grow during the early phases of their careers.

Endorsement and Support

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem expressed his appreciation to FIA Member Clubs, Malaysian officials, and President Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir for their invaluable support. He affirmed that the competition underscores the FIA’s dedication to accessible motorsport, fostering talent, and globally advancing karting.

Hon. Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports for Malaysia, welcomed the event, affirming it signifies Malaysia’s commitment to nurturing motorsport development within the country. This partnership with the FIA is viewed as a significant step forward for motorsport in Asia, blending international standards with localized support.

The FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup aims to make motorsport more affordable and accessible while creating equitable chances for emerging talent globally. By employing identical karts and offering educational resources, the event ensures performance is dictated by skill and resolve rather than financial clout.

Furthermore, the competition acts as a pivotal platform for identifying future racing talents. With categories for both juniors and seniors, drivers gain valuable international exposure and experience, preparing them for more advanced motorsport endeavors.

The kickoff of the FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup signals a new era for grassroots motorsport on a global scale. By uniting drivers from diverse backgrounds, fostering inclusivity, and prioritizing education and growth, the FIA aspires to cultivate the next generation of racing talents. Malaysia's role in hosting this vital event sets a remarkable precedent for future gatherings, reaffirming the necessity for accessible, competitive, and skill-oriented motorsport.
