The United Arab Emirates is currently facing one of the most intense heatwaves of the year. Residents in cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain are experiencing dangerously high temperatures that are raising concerns for health and safety. Authorities and weather experts are strongly urging everyone, especially vulnerable people, to take extra care during this time.
According to recent updates from AccuWeather, Dubai’s weather today is extremely hot and hazy. The temperature reached a high of 44 degrees Celsius during the day. Even in the evening, the heat will not reduce much, as the temperature is expected to stay around 35 degrees Celsius, which is still very warm and uncomfortable.

Scorching Conditions in Abu Dhabi
In Abu Dhabi, the situation is even worse. The city is under clear skies and bright sunshine, and the temperature reached 46 degrees Celsius. This is one of the hottest days so far this year in the capital city.
Just like in Dubai, the heat in Abu Dhabi is considered dangerous. People are advised to stay indoors, use air conditioning, drink a lot of water, and avoid being outside between 12 noon and 4 pm. These are the hottest hours of the day.
At night, Abu Dhabi is expected to cool down slightly, with temperatures dropping to 34 degrees Celsius. But this is still very hot and can be harmful to people who are sensitive to heat.
Al Ain’s Sweihan Hits 51.8°C — One of the Hottest This Year
The most extreme temperature was recorded in Sweihan, a town in the Al Ain region. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported that the temperature there reached 51.8 degrees Celsius at 3:00 PM yesterday. This is one of the highest temperatures recorded in the UAE this year.
Such extreme heat can be very dangerous. It can lead to heatstroke, dehydration, dizziness, and serious health problems, especially for those who work outdoors for long hours.
Sky Conditions and Possibility of Rain
Even though the temperatures are very high, the skies are expected to be mostly clear or partly cloudy across the UAE today. According to the NCM, there is a chance of convective cloud formation in the eastern and southern regions of the country.
These clouds might bring short periods of local rain. However, this rain will not cover large areas and is not expected to reduce the overall heat by much.
High Humidity and Fog Expected
Another concern for residents is rising humidity. Coastal and inland areas in the western part of the country will likely experience higher humidity levels overnight and into Sunday morning.
This rise in moisture can lead to fog or mist, which will reduce visibility, especially for drivers. People driving early in the morning are advised to use headlights, drive slowly, and be cautious on the roads.
Light Winds and Dusty Conditions
The weather report also says that winds will be light to moderate during the day. Sometimes, the wind may become stronger and cause blowing dust in open areas.
This dust can make it harder to breathe and may affect people who have asthma or other breathing problems. It is best to stay indoors when the wind picks up, especially in desert or exposed areas.
The Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to stay calm, so there is no major change expected in sea conditions.
Safety Measures and Public Warnings
Because of the extreme heat, the authorities have shared important safety tips to help people stay safe:
Avoid going outdoors during the hottest hours of the day (12 PM to 4 PM)
Stay indoors as much as possible and keep rooms cool
Drink plenty of water throughout the day
Wear loose and light-colored clothes
Avoid heavy physical activities outside
Take care of children, elderly people, and pets
Do not leave anyone in a parked car, even for a short time
Use hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen if going outside is necessary
Outdoor workers are at the highest risk. Companies are being reminded to follow the midday break rule, which means no work should be done outside under direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day.
Why Is It So Hot in the UAE Right Now?
Every year, the UAE experiences high temperatures during the summer months. But this year, the heat is stronger due to global weather patterns and changes in the local climate.
The dry desert winds, strong sunlight, and lack of cloud cover trap heat near the ground. This makes the air even hotter.
Also, big cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi have a lot of buildings and roads but not enough green spaces. This creates urban heat islands, where the temperature can be even higher than in other areas.
What’s Next for UAE Weather?
According to weather experts, the hot weather will continue in the coming days. There may be some clouds and short rain in a few places, but overall, the country will remain very hot, dry, and humid.
The National Center of Meteorology will continue to observe weather changes and give regular updates to the public. It is important to follow the official weather reports and safety advice.
Stay Safe and Stay Cool
The United Arab Emirates is going through one of the hottest periods of the year. With cities like Sweihan recording over 51 degrees Celsius, and both Dubai and Abu Dhabi experiencing dangerous heat, it is very important to take these warnings seriously.
Staying indoors, drinking water, using air conditioners or fans, and helping others who are more at risk can make a big difference.
With smart choices and care, we can all stay safe during this very hot summer. The heat may be strong, but our response can be stronger if we all take the right steps.
