Many Indian H-1B applicants who were scheduled for interviews in December have seen their appointments pushed back several months, with some rescheduled as late as March or May 2026, sparking concerns for professionals eager to re-enter the US workforce.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the US government to curb potential misuse of the H-1B visa program, heavily utilized by American tech companies for hiring foreign talent. A significant number of H-1B holders are Indian professionals, particularly in IT and healthcare sectors.
