Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of Emirates Airlines, has teamed up with Allied Transport Company to add hydrogen-powered trucks to its fleet. These special trucks are being made and will start running by early 2026.
Right now, Emirates SkyCargo has more than 60 trucks. These trucks are used to carry goods between Dubai World Central (DWC), Dubai International Airport (DXB), and other parts of the UAE.

In the beginning, five hydrogen-powered trucks will join the fleet. This step is an important part of Emirates SkyCargo’s plan to slowly shift to cleaner fuel options. These new trucks will help cut down the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) released into the air, which is good for the environment and improves air quality.
Even though these new trucks run on hydrogen instead of diesel, they can still carry the same amount of goods — up to 28 tonnes. So there won’t be any change in how much they can transport. Each truck can travel up to 700 kilometers on a full tank of hydrogen. They will be refueled at two stations in Dubai — one at Expo City and the other at Al Qudra Dewa.
Badr Abbas, a senior leader at Emirates SkyCargo, said that adding hydrogen trucks is a big step toward lowering pollution from their ground vehicles. He also said the company will keep looking for better and cleaner ways to move goods without lowering the quality of their service.
Ali Bin Beyat, the head of Allied Transport Company, said that their work with Emirates SkyCargo shows strong support for a cleaner future. He mentioned that these trucks will mostly be used in Dubai and that the plan matches both Emirates SkyCargo’s green goals and the UAE’s dream of a cleaner and more sustainable future.
