Emirates Airlines is making exciting changes to its fleet by adding more flights with upgraded Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. These planes will have new and improved cabins, giving passengers a better flying experience. In the next few months, the airline will start flying these upgraded planes to 8 new cities.
The A380s with the new cabins will fly to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Nice, and Perth. The Boeing 777s with updated interiors will fly to Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, and Frankfurt. In addition, there will be another Boeing 777 with a refreshed cabin flying to Dublin.

These upgrades will make it easier for travelers to enjoy the high-quality Emirates experience when they fly to or through Dubai. By the end of this year, the airline will have over 70 cities where passengers can enjoy the latest planes, including the Boeing 777s, A380s, and newly delivered A350s.
The airline's retrofit program, which involves updating the cabins of its planes, is going smoothly. Teams at the Emirates Engineering Centre work around the clock to finish these updates. They are updating one wide-body plane every three weeks, which is impressive.
Emirates is also planning to bring its first long-range Airbus A350 to Australia later this year. This new A350 will start flying to Adelaide on December 1. The A350 can fly for over 15 hours non-stop and can cover distances longer than 14,000 kilometers.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Our latest updated A380s, Boeing 777s, and new A350s will offer even more passengers the chance to enjoy a top-tier flying experience. This is part of our effort to make Emirates a leader in offering Premium Economy seats. By the end of this year, we will be known as one of the top airlines providing Premium Economy. In the next two years, we will make sure we are the best at offering Premium Economy, which is an important part of our service.”
Kazim also mentioned that introducing the A350 to Adelaide is a big step. It shows how important Australia is for Emirates. The A350 is a new and exciting aircraft that will improve long-haul flights for passengers.
Here’s a list of where the updated Emirates planes will fly:
Bangkok: Emirates will start flying the upgraded A380 on July 1, 2025 (EK372/373).
Hong Kong: Starting October 1, the A380 with new interiors will be introduced on EK380/381.
Nice: Starting October 15, the Boeing 777 with new cabins will begin flying here on EK077/078.
Perth: Starting October 26, Perth will get the upgraded A380 (EK420/421).
Madrid: The updated Boeing 777 will fly here starting October 15 (EK143/144).
Kuala Lumpur: The retrofitted Boeing 777 will fly here starting October 15 (EK346/347).
Frankfurt: The refreshed Boeing 777 will begin flying to Frankfurt on December 15 (EK043/044).
Phuket: Starting December 1, the Boeing 777 with updated interiors will be flying here daily (EK396/397).
Dublin: Starting December 1, Dublin will receive its second retrofitted Boeing 777.
Additionally, the new long-range Airbus A350 will start flying to Adelaide on December 1 (EK440/441). This is the first time the A350 will fly to Australia.
By the end of 2025, Emirates plans to receive 5 A350s, which will be used for long flights. These planes will have 32 lie-flat Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 Economy Class seats.
Leading the Way in Premium Economy
Emirates has been working hard to upgrade its planes since November 2022. So far, 51 Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s have been updated, and these planes are flying to 38 different destinations. The airline plans to finish updating 219 of its planes, which includes 110 A380s and 109 Boeing 777s.
As part of this project, Emirates is becoming a leader in offering Premium Economy seats. By the end of 2025, Emirates will offer more than 2 million Premium Economy seats every year. By 2026, that number will double to 4 million seats annually.
Premium Economy is a special class of service that gives passengers more comfort and space, and it has become very popular. Emirates' focus on adding more Premium Economy seats shows how much demand there is for better travel experiences.
Today, Emirates' Premium Economy seats are available on flights to many countries, and the airline is working to make sure more flights offer these seats. This helps make flying with Emirates a better and more consistent experience for passengers traveling to and through Dubai.
A $5 Billion Investment
Emirates has made a huge investment of $5 billion in upgrading its planes. This is the largest retrofit program in the aviation industry. More than 270 engineers and technicians work every day to update the planes. On average, it takes 22 days to upgrade an A380 and 18 days for a Boeing 777. Every month, two planes are ready to fly with their new cabins.
When the program is complete, Emirates will have added 8,512 Premium Economy seats, 2,034 First-Class suites, 12,720 Business Class seats, and 68,364 upgraded Economy Class seats. The airline will also use over 130,000 square meters of leather for Business and First-Class seats and 132,000 square meters of durable carpet for the cabins.
Faster Deployment of Updated Planes
If the updated planes are ready ahead of schedule, Emirates will send them to more cities earlier than planned, so passengers can enjoy the new cabins sooner.
