Emirates and Philippine Airlines (PAL) recently met at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai to talk about working together more closely. Their goal is to give travelers better flight schedules and improved services.
Both airlines are thinking about starting a code sharing agreement. This means they could share flights between the Philippines and Dubai, as well as on some other routes in each airline’s network. With code sharing, passengers can book one ticket, pay one fare, and follow one baggage rule for their entire trip, even if they are flying on both airlines. This would make traveling easier and help people reach more destinations.

Emirates and PAL also want to improve how they work together on cargo shipments. They plan to share ideas and learn from each other in areas like ground handling, food services, plane maintenance, and staff training. They also hope to invite journalists and travel agents on trips to better understand their services.
The two airlines already have a partnership. In March 2023, they signed an interline agreement, which allows passengers to easily connect between the two airlines. Through this, passengers can travel to 10 cities in the Philippines using Cebu and Clark, and also reach 9 international cities through Dubai. Travelers enjoy smooth transfers and their baggage is checked through to their final stop.
Emirates has been flying to Manila since 1990 and has grown its service to include flights to Cebu and Clark. Right now, Emirates offers 28 flights each week to the Philippines, which means about 22,700 seats are available for travelers going to and from Dubai. Emirates connects passengers to over 140 destinations around the world.
To show its strong support for Filipino travelers, Emirates also opened its first Emirates World Store in Manila. This is their first store in Southeast Asia and it helps customers with bookings and other travel needs.
